About DAREA

Darea Distributions was born out of the desire to provide quality equipment to New Zealand hunters and outdoors people.

The products we stock are tried and tested by us before putting them out there for your use.  We source products that we believe are better than what are available here, either in quality or price, very often both, and put them through their paces before we agree to stock them, thereby putting our endorsement on them.

You can rest assured that the products we advertise and sell are quality and will fulfill their design specifications and your needs with ease.

We are a small business with customer satisfaction as our main focus.  We will do our very best to ensure your interaction with us is exemplary thereby enabling us to continue bringing you more quality gear as we identify market needs and suitable products.

Sincerely

Daniel and Ruth Peat

February

Young Ryan Morrissey had a hunt with his Dad and Uncle and secured his first deer with a 150 metre shot with his new .243 that he helped pay for!  Way to go young fulla!

I don't often bump into pigs in the areas I hunt but with an invite to a spot with a few roaming around I jumped at the opportunity and managed to take three pigs with two arrows.  The little fulla copped an arrow after it had been through the sow on the far right.  He was an unintentional target but delicious all the same.

With the Holiday period kicking into full swing the hunting front has been pretty quiet I must say.

My beautiful daughter shot her first deer recently though, a cool calm and collected 8 year old Brynae took this tasty fallow spiker cleanly at 80 metres.

Kevin Low managed to get down South over the New Year period and had a massive walkabout with his long bow.  As usual with his hunting skills he had some success and took this magnificent 12 2/8 inch Bull Tahr.  Unfortunately he only had one horn but regardless, he is a trophy to remember especially with the stick and string.  Kevin used one of our VPA 2 blade broadheads to take the Tahr.

Christmas Eve the whole family went for a walk in some Sambar country and I took the first opportunity I've had to harvest a deer with everyone present.  This prime Sambar hind is at the butchers at the moment being "modified" into salamis, biersticks and sausages.

December

Very good mate and top hunter Harvey Marshall took this monster Rusa stag near Galatea.  There are few hunters with the focus and perseverance Harvey has in getting the job done and this fantastic trophy is testament to that.

September

Well, we made it back from the States after a lot of travelling and seeing some fantastic sights.  The Elk hunt was an amazing experience and even though I didn't get to put one on the ground I will be back.  Round one to the Elk!  Stay tuned for pics or checkout our facebook page.

WE WILL BE AWAY FROM THE COUNTRY UNTIL SEPTEMBER 30, ANY ORDERS PLACED BEFORE THEN WILL NOT BE SENT UNTIL OUR RETURN.  SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE, BUT PLEASE KEEP ORDERING, WE'LL ADD A LITTLE SOMETHING TO YOUR ORDER TO MAKE UP FOR THE DELAYS.

REGARDS, DAREA.

July / August

Early July saw me take good mate Nik Maxwell out for his first Sambar hunt.  Heading to an old haunt in the Manawatu we spent a night observing animals before this stonker of a stag presented himself.  Nik put him down with a cracker of a shot and he now has a fantastic trophy and a feezer full of venison!

Mid July my son Corbett and I went for a dayu hunt with Kevin Low to chase some wallabies around at Lake Okataina near Rotorua.  After a few hours sneaking about this yearling hind presented a shot opportunity which was gladly taken.

A few wallabies also hit the deck to round of an awesome day in the bush.

June 2015

Kevin Low got to sneak away for a trip down the Taranaki with Hardie and secured this great looking wild cow with his long bow and VPA 250 grain broadheads.  A top effort getting in close with these wary animals.

I got away for a quick sambar hunt and got in close to this young hind slipping a VPA cleanly through her.

May 2015

A fantastic few days in the Taranaki with a good mate saw me harvest a couple of fallow deer along with two wild bulls.  The VPA broadheads made short work of the bulls and I have to say, if you haven't hunted these massive animals yet, you should give it a try, they are an adrenaline pumping beast.
